Axminster
Axminster, a traditional woven method developed over 250 years ago is now used almost universally in the finest luxury hotel and resort installations due to its beauty, crisp, clear pattern definition, along with long-term durability and appearance retention properties.
Desso offers Axminster carpets in both 3-ply and 2-ply yarns, in 80% wool/ 20% nylon and in 100% nylon. While 3-ply carpets have clear durability advantages over 2-ply products, our 3-ply carpets have also proven to be the best in the market. Desso’s 3-ply yarn affords a higher level of yarn twist compared to the industry average: where Desso applies 3.3 twists per inch in Desso Axminster, the industry average is just over 3 twists per inch.
The higher level of yarn twist provides greater appearance retention, stronger resilience to crushing and an overall reduction in life-cycle costs. The 3-ply yarn also allows Desso to increase density and pile weight without increasing the row count and subsequent weaving time.
Wilton
Wilton is highly prestigious carpet manufactured on traditional weaving looms. The unique weaving process allows for cut pile, loop pile and cut/loop combinations that can be produced to achieve stunning pattern effects.
